Acts 18:4–11 AV
4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks. 5 And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ. 6 And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean: from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles. 7 And he departed thence, and entered into a certain man’s house, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue. 8 And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized. 9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace: 10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city. 11 And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.
John 4:35 AV
35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
We
Pressure didn’t stop him
Opposition didnt’ stop him
He had revival....
He said, I’ll go to the gentiles....
I’ll find somebody who will listen...
If this one wont listen, I’ll go to that one, he may.
Luke 5:1–11 AV
1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, 2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. 3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. 4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. 5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. 6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. 7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. 8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. 9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: 10 And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men. 11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.
They fished all night, but the morning came and they saw Him.
The night is now gone; revival is come; the cry of the perishing cries out unto the Lord.
This church was built on the rock.
It was not built ot fail.
He built it to win, and we are winning.
Matthew 26:46 AV
46 Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.
It is time to get up; it is time to go.
It is time to think about the future, we need revival.
John 2:23–24 AV
23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did. 24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
Can we be saved just because we believe in Him?
Some say we can.
But according to this scripture they believed in Him, be he didn’t believe in them.
He did not commit himself unto them.
Do you know what will happen when we really believe in Him?
He will answer back with another tongue.
With stammering lips and another tongue will He speak back.
We can’t be a Christian just by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ unless He believes in us.
Psalm 37:5 AV
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
To comit anything fully to God, we must have a definite transaction.
With God that is a covenant, a contract, a business agreement.
So often we never get anywhere because we won’t make a covenant.
We say, “Lord, we want to serve You to tell us to do anything differnt from what we are doing. We just want to love You, and You just let us along and let us love You.”
No. He wont do that.
We can beleive, but He won’t believe in us,
He says, “I want you to commit yourself; I want you to settle it. After you have prayed, fasted and committed yourself, I will make a covenant with you.”
It’s good for us to find out what God likes.
When we go fishing, we don’t put straberries on the hook, just because we like them. We put what the fish likes.
We need to read the Bible and find out what God likes.
He will talk to us when we get on a subject He likes.
When it comes to lost souls being saved, He likes it.
When it comes to sick folks being healed, He likes it.
Luke 10:17–21 AV
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. 21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
